Modifier group
Sometimes products that customer buy may be supplemented by additional purchase. Modifier products are items that can be added to a main product to customize it according to the customer’s preferences or requests. For example, if a customer orders a coffee, they might want to add Skim milk, Soy milk, Almond milk, Coconut milk, etc. These are modifier products that can change the price and preparation of the coffee. When they buy these optional items, they may or may not include extra price.
User can create, view and update modifier groups and its products from here.

Let us understand modifier product with an example.
For an Iced Coffee-REG, we can have two modifier groups namely Iced Drink Mods and Coffee Extra mods.
-
Add modifier products to the modifier-group.
Add "Sugar", "Sweetener", "Marshmallow", "Cinnamon" etc to the group "Coffee Extra Mods". -
Similarly, create one more group "Iced Drink mods" and add modifier products such as "No Ice", "No Cream", "No Icecream" to the group.
Display order of these modifiers can be rearranged to view in POS by drag and drop method.
- From Iced Coffee-REG product's detail page , map it to the above modifier groups

Single Selection / Multi Selection Modifier Group - types
In the above example, Iced Drink mods is a "Single selection" type modifier group. Each item in group can be selected only once.
Whereas, "offee Extra Mods" is a "Multi Selection" modifier group. An item in the group can be selected more than once.
For "Multi Selection" in modifier group, when min = '0' and max = 'n', we can select each modifier product in the modifier group upto 'n' times separately.
For "Multi Selection" in modifier group, when min = 'non-zero' and max = 'n', altogether we can select modifier product of modifier group upto 'n' times.
Important - Please note
While mapping products to a store, all the products in its modifier group should also be mapped to that store and the price level.
