Kitchen Display System

The system allows local communication within a store for KDS ticket creation, while continuing to use the server for third-party sales channels. Server only creates tickets related to orders from third-party sales channels.

Implementation Steps

  1. Install the Windows KDS app.
    • Download and install the Windows KDS app on the KDS machine.
    • From admin panel, get the pairing code of the bumpscreen for the store. Managing bumpscreens from admin panel
    • Enter/Paste the Pairing Code, in the Windows KDS Connect screen. Copy and Paste the pairing Code
  2. Enable Local Communication in Admin Panel
    • Go to the store settings in the admin panel and enable the "Enable Local Communication" option.
  3. Sync, Exit and Reopen all POS Tills of the store
    • Do a POS Sync, then Exit and reopen all tills to apply the local communication settings.
    • A green icon on the top-right corner of the till screen indicates the system is in "Local Communication Mode."

Windows KDS App

When an order is placed, KDS tickets will be generated. POS orders generate KDS tickets locally and send them to Windows KDS. KDS tickets for online and third-party sales channels are created by the server and sent to both Web KDS and Windows KDS.

  • Display screen shows tickets in 3 stages - live tickets, parked tickets and completed tickets.

  • Last transactions can be recalled by clicking on the Recall Last button.

  • Settings: You can personalize the KDS display from the "Settings" apart from viewing basic bumpscreen info. You can also Reset the KDS from here. KDS Settings

There is a timer which starts once the order is placed. It shows the preparation time. After "3" minutes of duration, the ticket starts blinking which is to notify the kitchen staff.

Live tickets

Orders lively placed from different sales channel, products and sales type mapped to that bumpscreen will be displayed as separate tickets in 'Live tickets'. Live tickets

Parked tickets

Orders which needs some waiting time will be moved and listed in 'Parked tickets'. We can move the tickets to 'Parked tickets' by clicking 'Park' button. Parked tickets

Completed tickets

When the preparation is finished, the tickets will be moved to 'Completed tickets' which shows that those order is ready for serving. We can move the tickets to 'Completed tickets' by clicking 'Serve' button. Completed tickets

  • The parked tickets and completed tickets can be moved back to Live tickets by clicking on the Recall button.
  • When we double click on a ticket, it gets moved to completed.
  • The tickets will be valid only for a single day and will not be available the next day.
